This short but Brilliant Track is from Bowie's Famous, Let's Dance Album, an album that reveals the Many Scary Monsters of this World, and that the ONLY Way to Defeat them, and to remain A Lad that is Quite Sane, is to Surrender our Will back to God, so that we may Follow His Divine Plan for us, He that Sees All, Knows All as He that has Created All...

Thus, in this Song, Bowie is singing about the Problems and Challenges that we All Face in our Lives, and how it becomes so easy to forget about our Faith in God, as if His Infinite Power holds no sway over the meager problems we face...

And this is why Meditation plays such a Key Role on this Song and indeed, upon this entire album (Let's Dance, is an Allegory for Aligning to God's Frequency by going Within ourselves, in Stillness and Silence, via the Ancient Art of Meditation; thus, the Metaphorical lines...

'Just when I'm ready to throw in my hand
Just when the best things in life are gone
I look into your eyes (ooh, ooh)...'

And...

'And when I'm willing to call it a day
Just when I won't take another chance
I hold your hand (ooh, ooh)...'

Where 'Looking into God's Eyes' and Holding His Hand, are Allegorical references to Surrendering our Physical Reality for the Realm of God, of which is SPIRIT, Still, Silent, that which we cannot See, Taste, Touch or Feel, and yet we KNOW is Quite Real...where the words 'Ooh, Ooh' are not throwaway lyrics, but rather represent the Mystical Feeling we get when we make this Connection to God, as our Skin begins to Tingle and swell with Goose, or 'God' Bumps...

There is No Smoke without the Eternal Fire of God that Burns Deep Within us; thus, we must Let Go of the Out There World, and Go Within Ourselves to the Secret Abode of God, where All is Still, Silent and in perpetual Bliss...
