My thoughts and opinions about Trump making English the official language of the U.S.
The vast majority of the U.S. already speaks English only. So we might as well make it official. An official language does not ban other languages. Foreigners can still speak their native language. An official language means you should know the language of the country you live in or are visiting. Other countries have an official language and nobody has a problem with that. The problem here is a language barrier. And if English was already the official language, maybe there wouldn't be so many communities in this country that don't speak English. But even if English was not previously the official language, it was still the common language. So it would be common sense to learn English when you come here. Again, an official language does not forbid foreigners from speaking their native language. It does not mean you have to speak English only.
