TRUMP EMPLOYS PUTIN FOR US-IRAN TALKS?!!?

Bloomberg on Mar. 4 reported that Russia is ready to mediate talks between Tehran and Washington, becoming the latest country to offer such an intervention.

The report stated that Putin and Trump in a February phone call agreed that Moscow would assist the US in establishing contact with Iran on nuclear-related and regional issues. It also pointed to the Russia-US talks in Saudi Arabia last month.

Yuri Ushakov, an aide to Putin, confirmed on Mar. 4 that Iran was a topic discussed at the Feb. 18 meeting between senior Russian and US officials in the Kingdom.

Separately, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow believes Iran and the US should resolve their differences diplomatically and that Russia is willing to facilitate such efforts.

On Mar. 5, Peskov asserted that future Russia-US talks would include Iran’s nuclear program and reiterated that Moscow sees Tehran as an ally that it maintains comprehensive ties with.
