Guermantes "G-Man" Lailari and I discussed the growing threat to Taiwan, the perceptions of the people there about whether the Chinese actually will attack, and whether the United States will come to their assistance if indeed the island is blockaded or invaded its mortal enemy and ours, the Chinese Communist Party. We also discussed what we should be doing to try to stave off that disastrous problem and the danger of underestimating just how serious it would be for us, now evident in some of our senior officials.

I got a second opinion from Brian Kennedy on some guests on our program and others in the Trump administration about the prospects for war with Communist China, a shooting war at that, and what we best be doing to try to dissuade, deter, and if necessary defeat the People's Liberation Army from launching attacks it now seems to be poised to mount at least for the purposes of blockading that island, perhaps for invading and conquering it.
