FLASHBACK 2019 – Election campaign: Maxime Bernier, leader of the People’s Party of Canada, wanted to ABOLISH supply management, this monopoly system that inflates the price of milk, chicken, and eggs.

His plan? Buy back producers’ quotas over 5-10 years to free them from the UPA cartel and allow them to export, like beef or pork producers.

Fast-forward to 2025: Donald Trump brings it back to the table and wants to dismantle supply management to open the market. Was Bernier ahead of his time?
