Stepping outside your comfort zone. Growth happens when you step outside what feels comfortable by pushing yourself into unfamiliar situations, you build resilience, gain new experiences that contribute to your overall confidence. Embrace discomfort when you face discomfort, remind yourself, yeah, remind yourself that a sign of growth, that it's a sign of growth. The more you embrace uncomfortable situations, the more uncomfortable, the more comfortable you become with taking on new challenges. This is actually a kind of therapy, right? So somebody's got a fear of cats per se? Yeah, the therapy is called exposure therapy and a therapist will start with showing them a picture of a cat and then once they get comfortable with the picture of a cat, they might do a cat toy and then once they're comfortable with the cat toy, they'll take them somewhere where they can see a cat perhaps behind glass like a pet store or something and then be in the same room as the cat and then once they're in the same room with the cat for a while they can be comfortable with that touching the cat right but at a distance and eventually they'll work up with more and more exposure with a little bit more discomfort a little bit more discomfort until it becomes comfortable progressing through to the point where the person can hold the cat and is no longer afraid of cats now I'm not a therapist and I'm not telling you if you're afraid of heights you need to go stand the Golden Gate Bridge but there is some truth in this so by embracing discomfort it's really kind of the foundation of growth and it does require the confidence yeah, it does require the confidence that you can survive whatever exposure you're gonna take
