Newhart 1x02 - Mrs. Newton's Body Lies A-Mould'ring in the Grave

In 1982, the 'Newhart' show premièred on CBS. The 1/2 hour sitcom ran from 1982-1990.
The show was about Dick(Bob Newhart) and Joanna Loudon(Mary Frann) from New York City who moved to Vermont and bought and restored the 200 year old Stratford Inn. George Utley (Tom Poston) was the caretaker of the inn. Dick was a writer of how to books and Joanna handled the day to day operations of the inn. Jennifer Holmes who played Leslie Vanderkellen, an extremely wealthy socialite was the maid in seasons 1-2 replaced by Julia Duffy as Stephanie Vanderkellen, another extremely wealthy socialite who became the inns new maid. Steven Kampman played Kirk Devane, owner of The Minuteman Cafe and habitual liar, later replaced by Peter Scolari as Michael Harris and the narcissistic boyfriend of the narcissistic Stephanie. Larry, Darryl and Darryl, local yokels were played by William Sanderson as Larry, Tony Papenfuss as Darryl 1 and John Voldstad as Darryl 2.
The town (which is never mentioned by name) was filled with unique characters.
I haven't had TV in 15 years. I have clean, wholesome, commercial free TV downloaded on my PC. I have seen snippets of what today is considered TV entertainment. IMO, TV today sucks.

I pity those who were born after this show was cancelled. Newhart was real comedy.
