This untitled 1927 silent nitrate film, shot in November by Silverton, Oregon photographer June Drake with Albert Adams—owner of the Palace Theatre—offers a vivid slice of 1920s small-town life. It opens with Eugene Field Elementary’s staff and students, then cuts to a football game at McGinnis Field and golf scenes at a Barnes family-run course south of town. Though incomplete, ending mid-reel (under 10 of its 20-minute runtime), this fragile celluloid captures Silverton’s community spirit before the Palace’s 1930s rebuild.
