Residents of the Gold Coast have been filmed breaking out into widespread cheers after power was restored to the ex-Cyclone Alfred affected area. Energex workers continue to work to restore power to those affected by blackouts as a result of Alfred, with around 211,000 properties across south-east Queensland still without power as of approximately 8:30am Monday. The jubilant scenes in Coolangatta were captured on social media as power was restored to that area on Sunday.
