Cipolla's Laws of Stupidity

Italian Carlo M. Cipolla wrote a treatise on the dangers of stupidity in any society and in any time. His proposal identifies four basic types of people and their level of danger or benefit to society. The STUPID man is determined to be the most dangerous of all because of his disregard for benefit either for others or for himself in his actions. This one will do damage because he can. Be prepared to apply your own experience and beliefs to the "laws", for you may well disagree with some of the conclusions drawn by Cipolla. I, for example, find his description of the person who acts to benefit others but not himself as the "naive and defenseless" category and dangerous because he cannot prosper, to be directly opposed to the teachings of Mashiach (Christ). No one could be more beneficial than the One who says, "deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me", and "love your enemy, do good to those that persecute you". A full list would fill more space than is provided here. Suffice to say that if I bring benefit to one man, woman, or child, and forfeit my life in the process, who knows how that benefit will multiply.
