Ukraine launches its largest drone attack on Russia before key talks

Senior officials from Ukraine and the United States opened talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, focused on ending Russia’s war in Ukraine, just hours after Kyiv launched is largest drone attack on Moscow to date.

There was no immediate comment from Ukrainian or U.S. officials on the massive attack. Some 343 drones targeted 10 Russian regions, leaving three people dead and 18 wounded, officials said.

The meeting in Jeddah is the first between the U.S. and Ukraine since the explosive Oval Office meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy last month. Critically, Ukraine needs to persuade Washington to end its suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing, which followed the blowout.
