Backpacking in North Cascades (Lake Ann) | Snow Camping

The delayed snow melt has put a wrench in some of our overnight hiking trips this summer. We decided roll with it and hike to Lake Ann, spending a night in the mountains within the Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest. I car camped at the trail head and the next day, my mom and I were in complete solitude. No people, only the crunching snow and sound of glacier water melting.

Washington is truly a magical place. I plan to explore more of Mount Baker and the North Cascades National park. I left my dog behind this trip as it was the first overnight of the season. But, the trail IS dog friendly!
