The system of historical-critical theology was imposed on theological schools after Vatican II. It does not lead to a personal relationship with Christ, it does not emphasize the condition of salvation, which is repentance, or even the salvation of the immortal soul. HCT essentially questions all the truths of God’s Word. Behind this system is the spirit of lies and death.
The student formed by the historical-critical method and the spirit of Vatican II has been robbed of a living faith and a personal relationship with Christ. He has become spiritually blind, so he is unable to repent and have a relationship with Jesus as his Saviour. Such a person is de facto an apostle of the antichrist. He considers the Gospel to be a collection of various literary genres or even myths. The tragedy is that after the Second Vatican Council, this heretical teaching became a condition for ordination to the priesthood. For 60 years, entire generations of priests, including today’s bishops, have been shaped by this spirit of heresy. Spiritual poisoning circulates in their veins. Therefore, they are unable to oppose the internal apostasy in the Catholic Church.
HCT does not care about the salvation of souls, but seeks out alleged inconsistencies with the aim of questioning the entire Holy Scripture and the path of salvation. To a priest who is a man of prayer and who first pursues the salvation of his soul, God will in due time show the meaning of even those so-called dark places in Holy Scripture, for his benefit and for the benefit of others.
It is necessary to know that there is human knowledge, and there is knowledge that God gives through grace. The priest acquires it in interior prayer and by keeping God’s commandments, which then become for him a sweet yoke and a light burden. In prayer he receives God’s light and the Holy Scriptures open to him like a deep well of living waters that spring up into eternal life.
God’s Word portrays Saint Paul the Apostle as an example for priests and bishops. To him, Christ crucified was the centre of his life. He himself says: “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me! For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Human wisdom, which is without Christ, is considered by the Apostle Paul to be rubbish and waste. Future priests must also be true saviours of souls by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ. They must rescue souls from the broad road that leads to destruction. They must therefore resist the spirit of the world, behind which stands the prince of this world.
What should be the proper formation of the priesthood? Already during the seminary studies, conditions must be created for the future priest to acquire sound doctrine and at the same time a habit of interior prayer. The saints point to two spiritual pillars. The first pillar is the contemplation of death, God’s judgment and eternity. The second pillar is the contemplation of Christ’s suffering on the cross. It is not only contemplation that brings us to this centre of our salvation, but also the inner union with Christ crucified through His seven last words. We present two ways of this interior prayer.
In the first form of the prayer, 20 minutes are divided into 5-minute sections. During the first 5 minutes a reflection on the given word is read out. For the next 5 minutes we kneel and repeat a short meditation sentence. We try to be aware of the given truth during this time. For example: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” For the next 5 minutes we move from meditation to personal communication with God, where all say together, “Father,” and one adds, “forgive me my trespasses.” We kneel with our arms in the shape of the cross. For the last 5 minutes we stand, our hands raised, and we slowly and quietly call out “Abba” (Father). At the same time, everyone realizes: God sees me, I open myself completely to Him, and I give Him all my sins, all my past and all my future. It is actually a true act of love, the fulfilling of the first commandment: “You shall love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” We continue in the same way with the other words of Christ.
In the other form of interior prayer, we reflect on each word from the cross for only 5 minutes. Whoever finds time to reflect on the seven words from the cross every day for at least a month, it will help him open the way to interior prayer.
Seminarians should be trained for a semi-monastic life as priests. The period of study in the seminary should already serve this purpose. As a new generation of priests, they should spend 1.5 days a week together in separation from the world. There are groups of priests who have been doing this for years, meeting on Sunday evenings and staying on a fixed schedule until Tuesday afternoon. A group of 3-5 priests is ideal.
These weekly prayer meetings build up the fraternity and gradually lead each member to inner purification. They can help each other by pointing out their own faults and, in an appropriate way, the faults of the others. In this way, they help each other to open their eyes and to be healed from the bondage of self-love and the inviolability of the ego, which is the root of spiritual blindness and of many errors and sins. At the same time, they encourage each other on the path of following Christ.
They also prepare the Sunday sermon by praying over the Scriptures. At the end of the prayer, each one shares the light he has received for living the Word of God as spiritual food for himself and for the souls entrusted to his care. Here, isolated from the influences of the world and at the same time in fraternal communion, they receive strength to proclaim the Gospel in all its fullness. They spend these less than two days in a certain order, in prayer, in fraternal communion, in apostolic teaching and in the Holy Liturgy. These are, in fact, the four principles on which the early Church in Jerusalem was built (cf. Acts 2:42).
The priests who have fraternal communion are able to lead the men of their parishes to become disciples of Christ. Jesus said: “Make disciples for Me,” not just church-goers. A group of men also meet once a week and pray together for at least two hours. They also celebrate Sunday in a new way. As early as Saturday evening, each man experiences the truth of Christ’s resurrection at home with his family using a prayer model. Reflection is combined with singing. Then, early in the morning, they experience other truths about Christ’s resurrection for two hours according to the model.
In addition to the liturgy, they spend time in fellowship, men separately and women separately. There is an opportunity for sharing testimonies, encouraging each other, and searching for ways how to live as disciples of Christ in the present circumstances. This celebration of Sunday builds and strengthens families and protects them from the crises to which the spirit of the world drives them. Moreover, it strengthens the relationships of spouses with each other, and also the relationships of parents and children. It is about building a healthy family through a wider spiritual family rooted in Christ.
This domestic church has a fixed point: every day each family gathers in prayer for the so-called Holy Hour, from 8 to 9pm. At 9pm the priests, wherever they are, give blessings to the four cardinal points.
A priest who is himself formed in the priestly community and has a prayer order can then inspire his faithful to prayer and true communion.
It is very important that zealous men celebrate Fatima Saturday as a day of penance. Several groups can meet together. It is advisable to have a priest present to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation and to pray with them. In a way, it is a renewal of the biblical feast of the new moon, but with a penitential content and a time devoted to prayer and the Word of God. So much for the revival of the priesthood and the family.
If we compare this programme, this formation, with the formation of historical-critical theology, which has distorted spiritual life for 60 years, it is absolutely clear which way a sincere Catholic should go.
Theological schools teach historical-critical theology and promote the spirit of the Second Vatican Council. Let us ask ourselves: What is the spiritual fruit of this? The answer is clear: it is the fruit of death. Therefore, a new formation of the priesthood must begin in the seminary.
