A Message for Millie Bobby Brown

No lie, I really did like Millie Bobby Brown’s statement.

The fact she takes flack for simply existing is insane.

Because that’s what it is: she exists, so she gets scrutinized.

Unfortunately, that’s what we do to celebrities, mostly actresses/women.

We build them up, and tear them down.

We celebrate their accomplishments, and mock their failings.

We even mock their mistakes.

And, more than all of that, we judge them.

We judge them for their politics, career choices, and most superficially, their looks.

Is Sydney Sweeney too skinny, or too fat?

Depends on the day, and the article.

Neither question is legitimate, but both need to be asked in order to feed the outrage machine known as social media.

Get people clicking, get people fighting… Doesn’t matter what they’re fighting about, or what side they take, as long as they’re typing in all caps.
