The Biden admin. was "cooking the books" on illegal migrant arrests.
A comprehensive review of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data has revealed that the Joe Biden administration has been manipulating figures on arrests of undocumented immigrants in the United States. The information suggests that thousands of cases have been falsely labeled as arrests, when in fact the illegal immigrants were simply caught and released into local communities without facing due process.
According to a leaked report, this practice has artificially inflated arrest figures, creating the illusion of stricter enforcement of immigration laws under the current administration. “There are tens of thousands of cases that were labeled as arrests, but were actually illegal immigrants who were possessed and released into their communities,” revealed a source within DHS. This situation has generated outrage among immigration officials, lawmakers and citizens concerned about border security.
Tom Homan, former acting director of ICE and a fierce critic of the Biden administration's immigration policies, denounced this manipulation of data as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. “The administration has not only reduced deportations, but it is also altering the statistics to give the impression that it is taking action at the border when, in fact, it is allowing illegal immigrants to remain in the country without consequence,” Homan said.
The revelation comes at a critical time in the debate over border security. Over the past several years, the Biden administration has come under fire for its lax approach to immigration enforcement. The crisis at the southern border has reached unprecedented levels, with record numbers of illegal crossings and an increase in seizures of drugs such as fentanyl, which has raised concerns among affected communities.
The report also highlights that many of those released have criminal records or pose a risk to national security. Despite this, ICE has significantly reduced the number of deportations compared to previous administrations. In fiscal year 2023, deportations fell 70% compared to 2019, according to official figures. This has generated a strong backlash from local and state officials, who have denounced that their communities are forced to deal with the consequences of these policies.
