Tommy Vercetti receives an unexpected call from Umberto Robina, the fiery leader of the Cubans. Mistaking him for Leo Teal, Umberto offers him a job. When Tommy reveals that Leo is dead—possibly by his own hands—Umberto is intrigued. Impressed by Tommy’s confidence, he invites him to Café Robina in Little Havana to talk "mano a mano." At the café, Tommy meets Umberto and his father, Alberto. The conversation quickly turns into a test of bravado, with Umberto questioning Tommy’s toughness in his usual loud and dramatic fashion. After some back-and-forth banter, Umberto sets up a challenge: prove his manhood by handling a speedboat like a pro.

Tommy heads to Leaf Links, where he meets Rico, a Cuban gang member. Rico wastes no time, tossing Tommy the keys to a sleek Speeder and throwing down the gauntlet: navigate a fast-paced, obstacle-laden race through the canals of Vice City. Tommy speeds through the treacherous waters, dodging tight corners, clearing massive jumps, and pushing the boat to its limits. As the finish line nears, Tommy completes the course in record time, earning Rico’s respect. With the challenge conquered, Rico acknowledges Tommy’s "big cojones" before sailing off, leaving Tommy one step closer to gaining the Cubans' trust.

Just as Tommy catches his breath, his phone rings. The caller is Auntie Poulet, a mysterious and influential figure within the Haitian gang. Her warm yet unsettling voice hints at deeper plans for Tommy. She invites him over, promising something to make him "feel better"—a cryptic offer that leaves Tommy with more questions than answers.
