Should We “Fix It Later” or Get It Right Now?

"Just vote for it—we’ll fix the problems later."
That’s what some Louisiana legislators are saying about Amendment 2. But can we afford to gamble with the state’s foundational document?
William Most calls this logic dangerous. If an amendment is rushed, poorly written, or misleading, why should voters trust that it will be fixed afterward? Shouldn’t we get it right the first time?
His take: Don’t vote for a broken amendment and hope someone fixes it later.
Would you approve a major policy change based on a “trust us” promise? Or do you believe constitutional amendments should be airtight before they go to the voters? Let’s discuss!
