WHY IS IT FREE?
My agent would not touch this book—nor, I came to realize, would anyone else in mainstream publishing. All the scared rejections described the tome as a collection of conspiracy theories that appeal only to right-wing, white-supremacist, transphobes who . . . you know all the labels employed to try and intimidate us from asking questions. The truth is that the fantasy is too close to the truth. When I understood that fully, I knew I needed to go it on my own. Because GUESS HIS NAME needs to be read.
I could not care less about best-seller lists. Truly.
Publishing on a platform like Amazon would have required me to relinquish control. There’s no doubt in my mind that I would have woken up one day to find the novel erased.
