Big Boy 4014 Steam Engine Stopover

This was a planned stop by the Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 to top off water tank inside engine. There were thousands here to see the only operational Big Boy left.

There are 7 others in museums across the country, but this is the only one that still travels. It was put back to working order in 2019 and has been traveling around the USA since then and only makes limited stops.

Nokomis Illinois was lucky enough to be one of the stops this year. The comparison to normal diesel-electric engines would be like a Fiat next to a Semi Tractor Trailer.
