DMT WATER WASH

DMT WATER WASH:
Collect your nonpolar solvent with DMT. Before you take it to the freezer to crystallize, perform a water wash to remove impurities and neutralize the pH level. Use a one-gallon glass jar half filled with clean water.

Pour the naphtha into the water. Stir aggressively. I even use a drill mixer. You want the water to interact with as much of the naphtha as possible. Don’t worry about creating emulation; all the bubbles will dissipate quickly. You’ll notice a layer of scum between the water and naphtha. These are the impurities you want to collect. To gather it so you can collect it. Stir the contents of the jar to create a vortex. The vortex will force the impurities towards the eye of your vortex. Collect it with a pipette or a turkey baster.
If you miss some, stir again. The whirlpool will force it to the center and just use the pipette to suck it up. Repeat with a second jar of fresh water.
Collect your solvent and place it in a glass tray with a clamped sealed lid. Freeze for 24 hours.
Your DMT will be far less harsh.
