Repeat this dua every morning and evening

The phrase Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum is derived from two of Allah SWT’s 99 names. It is written as “Al-Hayy,” which means Ever-Living, and “Al-Qayyum” means Self-Sustained. These two names of Allah SWT are also mentioned in the famous Ayat al Kursi, which begins with “Allahu lailaha Illahu al Hayy al Qayyum…” So, in some hadiths, we find supplications in which Prophet Muhammad PBUH invoked Allah SWT’s names before supplicating. It is mustahab (recommended) to do so because it is the Sunnah of the Prophet PBUH, and by doing so, one can attract Allah SWT’s attention before making any Dua. Arabic Text of this Dua يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ Transliteration of this Dua Ya Hayyu ya Qayyoom, bi rahmatika astaghith, aslih li shani kullahu, wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfat ‘ayn. Reference of This Dua This Dua is found in Sunan al kubra, Amal al-Yawm wa’l-Laylah, in al-Asma’ was-Siffat. Some scholars, such as Al-Mundhiri, consider this Dua to be sahih, while Shaykh Albani considers it to be Hasan (a grade lower than sahih). As a result, we can conclude that this Dua is valid because it is authentic and mentioned in the book of Hadith. Conclusion Reciting “Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum Birahmatika Astaghith” supplication invokes Allah SWT’s mercy and guidance in all aspects of our lives. It provides spiritual comfort and strength while seeking divine assistance in mundane matters.
