The Enemy’s Position: A Response to Those Who War Against God

Throughout history, one of Satan’s greatest lies has been the idea that man can elevate himself to godhood. The very first temptation in the Garden of Eden was not about fruit—it was about authority. The serpent enticed Eve with the promise of divine knowledge, convincing her that she could decide for herself what was good and evil. Since that moment, humanity has struggled with this same desire for autonomy from God, often rejecting Him outright in the pursuit of self-exaltation.

I recently received a comment on my video, “When Did Higher Criticism Begin to Attack the Bible?” that reminded me just how deeply this deception has taken root in the minds of many. A man named John left a statement filled with hostility toward Scripture, Christianity, and the very concept of God Himself. His words were not just a disagreement—they were an outright attack on the Bible, labeling it as a book of “hatred, infanticide, genocide, slavery, and immorality.” He dismissed believers as dishonest, unwilling to admit ignorance, and accused them of bending Scripture to fit their own agenda.

At first glance, this might seem like just another angry internet comment, the kind that is all too common today. But when we examine the underlying philosophy behind such statements, we find something much more profound. John’s perspective is not merely an opinion; it is a demonstration of the biblical reality that those who do not know God are at enmity with Him (Romans 8:7). His hostility is not simply intellectual disagreement—it is spiritual warfare.
