Kansas City Fire Department unveils new firefighting robot

The Kansas City Fire Department successfully deployed its new firefighting robot during a fire at the Batliner Recycling Facility on March 15.

The robot, equipped with thermal imaging, a debris-clearing blade, and the ability to pump 2,500 gallons of water per minute, helped tackle the blaze.

It is designed for both offensive and defensive firefighting, especially in high-risk situations.

The fire, which involved large piles of recyclable materials, was extinguished by 9 a.m., and crews continued to manage hot spots, KCTV 5 has reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
