Paul, Slave to Christ Jesus

This video kicks off our journey into the Book of Romans. In Romans 1:1-2, Paul tells us a lot about himself. For example, "Paul a slave of Christ Jesus." At first glance, this might seem offensive to our modern ears, but what does it mean for Paul and his first audience? Well, as we dig into Paul's letter we will discover that Paul uses plenty of metaphors to convey deep theological principles. Slave language is no exception when Paul discusses the problem of sin and humanity's bondage to it.
