Edgar Berlanga scored a devastating first-round knockout of Gonzalez-Ortiz in Orlando at the Caribe Hotel. Ortiz served 10 years in prison before being released in 2024.

Ortiz fought twice in 2024. However, Ortiz is a novice compared to Edgar Berlanga. Fans are disappointed in Berlanga because they felt he should have fought someone of higher caliber coming off the Canelo loss.
