Daniel Faggella believes AI will inevitably take control away from humans.

Michael Levin believes that whatever we're creating will (probably!) turn out to be for our benefit, because it will recognize us as pieces of itself.

Can they both be right? Yes, if the AI uses us and our preferences to determine possible future states of the world. I explain how that could happen in my reaction here.
