Driver Slams Into Back of Cargo Truck, GOODRICH, March 17, 2025 - At approximately 3:06 pm on March 17, 2025, the driver of a black 2007 Chevy Aveo was west-bound on FM-1988 West when he slammed into the back of a cargo west-bound heavy-duty cargo truck. The driver of the Chevy (no names released at this time) was entrapped. Livingston and Goodrich Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene along with Allegiance Ambulance Service and Trooper Damon Zarate with the Texas Highway Patrol. Trooper Zarate was assisted by a number of other local Troopers. The driver of the cargo truck was physically okay. The driver of the Chevy was in critical condition. An AirLife Air Medical helicopter landed on 1988 and flew the driver of the Chevy from the scene. All traffic on 1988 was blocked during investigation and cleanup.
