Destroying Tesla's property is not protesting.

I've been seeing posts on social media and the news claiming that Trump said that boycotting Tesla is illegal. Assuming that Trump actually said that, it's most likely that he misspoke and was referring to the destruction of Tesla property that has been going on. That is illegal. Maybe Trump meant to say illegal protests and was saying that destroying Tesla property is an illegal form of protest. But nobody seems to acknowledge that anybody is actually destroying Tesla property. They're making it seem like Trump was saying protesting or boycotting in general is illegal while ignoring the context of the situation. Destroying Tesla property is not a proper form of protest.
