The Cadillac Escalade is of course America's premiere luxury SUV, the Stateside equivalent of a Range Rover if you will. And one of the relatively few 4x4s of the time which can genuinely rival a Hummer for sheer size - and far outclass it for seats and practicality. But with its massive physical proportions, large L92 6.2 litre Vortec V8 engine, potentially excessive fuel usage by UK standards and left hand drive spec, does it even make sense to own and drive an Escalade in the UK, or anywhere outside of the US for that matter?

Well let's dive into this 2011 Escalade ESV (long wheelbase) to consider its specs, fuel consumption, reliability, servicing, how it drives, and of course how it compares to its British and Euro alternatives, as well as some home grown American SUV's and trucks.
