Once Upon a Time: Democrats Used to Sound Like Trump on Immigration

From Bill Clinton to Barack Obama, top Democrats once advocated for securing the border, cracking down on illegal immigration, and enforcing deportations for criminal aliens. But those stances are long gone, replaced by open-border policies that have fueled record-high illegal crossings and national security concerns.

In past speeches and interviews, leading Democrats voiced strong opposition to illegal immigration:

Bill Clinton (1995): “In the budget I will present to you, we will try to do more to speed the deportation of illegal aliens who are arrested for crimes.”

Hillary Clinton (2003): "I think we gotta have tough conditions, tell people to come out of the shadows. If they committed a crime, deport them, no questions asked.”
