IIT Gandhinagar has implemented an extensive rainwater harvesting system featuring multiple underground storage tanks known as Jal Mandaps. As of June 2024, these tanks collectively have a storage capacity of approximately 6.4 million liters.
In the year 2023, the Institute successfully collected 13.44 million liters of rainwater, significantly enhancing its water conservation efforts
