Baby Budgie Hatched Today 3/19/2025

Pip (the mama budgie) and Stormy (the Papa budgie) are new parents! They hatched Nutsy and Nugget on January 1st and 3rd, 2025. After they were weaned, Pip laid 5 more eggs, but she dropped two of them on the bottom of the cage and they cracked, and I accidentally cracked one. The last clutch at the beginning of the year, produced two successful outcomes, Nugget and Nutsy.

I'm hoping this clutch will give us at least one boy, and at least one blue bird. Ideally, I'd like a blue boy.

The new clutch will hopefully, provide enough companions so that I can have two communities in two cages and separate Pip out to give her a break on egg laying and help us find good homes for Nutsy and one of the two babies in this clutch.

For now, we are thrilled to have another healthy sibling for Nugget and Nutsy.

This one is 4 hours old and I've named him Fweep for now.

The videos a little crazy. It's hard to get the lens at a good position in the nesting box.
