Prophecy PaRDeS: Unlocking the Jewish Key to Prophecy

Understanding the Bible requires more than just reading the words on a page—it demands recognizing the historical, linguistic, and cultural context in which it was written. PaRDeS is a fourfold method of interpretation used in Jewish thought to uncover the literal, allegorical, homiletic, and deeper meanings embedded within Scripture. This study explores how the New Testament (NT) quotes and applies the Hebrew Bible’s Old Testament prophecies using the Pshat (Simple), Remez (Hinted), Drash (Exposition), and Sod (Hidden/summation) levels of understanding.

By recovering the Jewish frame of reference, we avoid theological confusion, misinterpretations, and doctrinal errors that have divided the church for centuries. This method reveals the layered depth of Scripture and affirms that the NT does not override the OT but builds upon its already-established truths. This study will help believers read Scripture as the original audience would have understood it, unlocking prophetic meaning, Messianic fulfillment, and deeper theological insights.
