China demonstrated ‘satellite dogfighting,’ Space Force general says

A top Space Force general revealed that commercial systems have observed Chinese satellites practicing “dogfighting” maneuvers in low Earth orbit, demonstrating advanced space tactics.

Gen. Michael Guetlein described how five Chinese satellites maneuvered in synchronicity, showcasing complex space operations.

This exercise, which involved three Shiyan-24C experimental satellites and two Shijian-605 spacecraft, highlights China’s growing space capabilities, Defense News has reported.

Guetlein expressed concern over the shrinking gap in space capabilities between the U.S. and its adversaries, urging the Space Force to adapt to maintain space superiority.
