On Thursday morning around 3:30am, we received a burglary alarm at a restaurant near 7th Street and Mountain Ave. Officers got there in no time and saw the suspects running to a Dodge Challenger.
To no one’s surprise, the vehicle immediately fled. A PIT maneuver was performed in the parking lot, but the vehicle was able to continue. The driver of the Challenger then intentionally rammed one of our units and continued fleeing.

Since these guys are pros at making poor life choices, they made yet another one by driving up Linda Way, which is a dead end. The driver of the Challenger then tried to squeeze between two parked cars to get onto the sidewalk and got stuck. All occupants then foot bailed. The driver, an adult male from Southgate who is on probation for burglary, was quickly captured.

A second suspect, 16, from LA, was immediately captured in the nearby carports. Two remaining suspects evaded capture that night, but may see us soon. The Challenger the suspects were in had a stolen paper plate on it. Inside the vehicle was another plate (that still didn’t belong to the car) that was entered into the system as being a felony vehicle associated to other burglaries.

A search of the VIN showed the Challenger was… you guessed it, stolen.

Both of the suspects captured were booked on a number of charges, including assault with a deadly weapon on an officer, commercial burglary, felony evading, GTA, resisting, and several more.
