Ensuring 95% of Michigan’s Kids Can Read – Without Leaving Any Child Behind

I want 95% of children in Michigan to be able to read. While I recognize that some children face challenges, we cannot structure public education around the exceptions.

Instead, we must address those exceptions compassionately, critically, and thoughtfully—without giving up on any child.

At the same time, we must focus on moving the majority forward.
