RSAHK John chapter 9, the blind man
John 9 narrates Jesus healing a man born blind, demonstrating His divine power. The chapter begins with Jesus encountering a blind man. His disciples ask if the blindness resulted from sin, but Jesus clarifies that it was for God’s glory. He then makes mud with His saliva, applies it to the man’s eyes, and instructs him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man obeys and gains his sight.
The Pharisees investigate the healing, questioning the man and his parents. Some reject Jesus, claiming He broke the Sabbath, while others acknowledge His miracle. The healed man boldly testifies that Jesus must be from God. Frustrated, the Pharisees excommunicate him.
Later, Jesus finds the man and reveals Himself as the Son of God. The man believes and worships Him. Jesus declares that He came to bring spiritual sight to the blind and expose the blindness of those who claim to see.
This chapter highlights themes of faith, spiritual blindness, and Jesus as the Light of the World. It emphasizes that true vision comes from believing in Christ, while rejecting Him leads to spiritual darkness.
