Beit Shean 1

Beit Shean is an ancient site in northern Israel, with abundant archaeological material back to the Stone Age. It has a “tel” or hill fort, in addition to the Roman ruins. It was one of the “Decopoli” ten cities in the region, all destroyed simultaneously by an earthquake. I have visited Jerash in Jordan and it is the best preserved of all.
