Amid Syrian Turmoil, Israel Extends Lifeline To Struggling Druze Community

As Syria, under the Islamist regime of Ahmed al-Shaara, descends into chaos, with over a thousand people executed in recent days, Israel has stepped in and has provided huge amounts of aid to the embattled Druze minority.

Israel also permitted a large group of Druze, a religious minority in Syria and Israel, to enter the Jewish State for an official visit to one of their holy shrines. While the world and news media watch Syria burn, Israel is stepping up to help.
