Afghanistan - The Graveyard of Empires

Afghanistan earned its reputation as the Graveyard of Empires by crushing every superpower that tried to conquer it. Alexander the Great, the British Empire, the Soviet Union, and most recently America - all failed to control this untameable land. The harsh mountain terrain and fierce tribal warriors have protected Afghan independence for over 2000 years. Local fighters use guerrilla tactics, disappearing into caves and valleys they know intimately. When invaders think they've won, resistance emerges from the shadows. Even with modern weapons and massive armies, no outside force has ever truly conquered Afghanistan. The land remains undefeated, living up to its legendary name.
