The Aftermath
This 1982 low budget Sci-Fi movies was the lovechild of Actor Steve Barkett who after appearing in a few movies wanted to create a film dealing with the theme of disillusionment with modernity. The plot sees two astronauts land after a nuclear/biological war turns the world into a wasteland of raiders and mutants. Much of the action leans heavily on left over fears of the 1960s and 70s crime wave to build suspense as the movie is really about a world over run by criminal gangs.
The final budget for the movie was only $150,000 which even then was a small budget. The film makers screened it for legendary B-movie mogul Roger Croman who gave notes on how to tighten things up. Sid Haig also appears in the movie. This burn of the movie has a few sound flaws.
