Title: What is Authentic Faith in Jesus Christ?

Vital Verse: For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;
3:12 not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s were righteous. (1 John 3:11–12).

Nugget to Nibble:
Sin tainted every descendant of Adam and Eve, securing their paternal relationship with Satan. The children of God are distinct from the children of Satan. The desires and focus are evident as noted by John. An authentic love for one another exist among children of God (1 John 3:11). Cain’s hatred of Abel provides an example godless behavior from impure motives. True Christians cannot hate their brother or sister while claiming to abide with God (1 John 3:15). Equally, the hatred manifest when a believer ignore the needy although the resources are available to assist. John challenges believers to love in deed not just in word (1 John 3:8).
