How to Make the BEST Egg Rolls at Home!

These homemade egg rolls are packed with seasoned pork, fresh cabbage, and carrots, delivering the same amazing flavor you’d expect from your favorite Chinese restaurant! Serve them warm with soy sauce or egg roll dipping sauce, and watch them disappear in no time. Follow this easy recipe to make them at home today!

Ingredients:
1 pound ground pork or beef
1 teaspoon ground ginger (or more to taste)
1 teaspoon garlic powder (or more to taste)
2 cups shredded cabbage
2 ounces shredded carrots
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons water
1 quart peanut oil (or as needed)
8 (7-inch square) egg roll wrappers
2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:
Season the Pork:
In a large bowl, season ground pork with ground ginger and garlic powder. Mix until thoroughly combined.

Cook the Pork:
Heat a medium skillet over medium heat. Add pork and cook until browned and crumbly, about 5-7 minutes.

Prepare the Filling:
In a large bowl, combine the cooked pork, shredded cabbage, and carrots. Mix until well combined.

Make the Flour Paste:
In a small bowl, mix flour and water until it forms a paste. This will be used to seal the egg rolls.

Assemble the Egg Rolls:

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner pointed toward you, like a diamond.
Place 1/4 to 1/3 cup of filling in the center.
Fold the bottom corner up and over the filling. Fold the left and right corners in toward the center, then roll tightly toward the top corner.
Brush the flour paste onto the inside of the top corner to seal the egg roll.
Heat the Oil:
Heat peanut oil in a large skillet to 375°F (190°C).

Fry the Egg Rolls:
Carefully place the egg rolls into the hot oil. Fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy, about 5-8 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels or a rack.

Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top (optional) and serve with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
