Golan Heights Beit Tsaida overlook

Nice pull-off and overlook picnic area with awesome views over the Sea of Galilee, and ancient villages of K’far Nachum (Capernaum), Yehudiya 1 (“Jewish Village 1”), Beit Tzaida (Hunting House, apparently they used spears to catch fish, also somewhat modernized to Bethsaida in most Bibles), Yehudiya 2 (Jewish Village 2) uphill and into the Golan Plateau, and many other ancient places from Biblical times. Tiberias is straight across the lake. The Galilee and the Golan regions housed enormous Jewish settlements from the 11th Century BCE until the Roman genocide and ethnic cleansing, starting in 67 CE and ending with the failure of the Second Jewish Revolt led by Bar Kochba in 133 CE. The Byzantine era led to more Jewish out-migration, increased Christian settlement, and only small scattered Jewish and Christian settlements survived the initial period of Islamic imperialism that began in 670 CE.
