A conversation with Chairman Brian Schimming of WI Republican party
Chairman Brian Schimming discusses the high-stakes Supreme Court race between conservative Brad Schimel and liberal Susan Crawford, emphasizing its national implications—like protecting Act 10, school choice, and the U.S. House majority. With Wisconsin’s history of razor-thin elections, he urges early voting and grassroots support.
Brian Schimming is a veteran political strategist, radio host and key figure in the Republican Party of Wisconsin, with over 30 years of experience in grassroots organizing and campaign management. He served as an aide to Governors Tommy Thompson and Scott Walker, and held roles as a lobbyist, radio host, and state GOP vice chairman before being unanimously elected party chairman in December 2022, a position he retained after re-election in December 2024. His deep ties to Wisconsin politics and strategic acumen have solidified his influence.
As chairman, Schimming has revitalized the Wisconsin GOP by prioritizing early voting and fundraising, leading to significant wins like securing the state’s 10 electoral votes for Donald Trump in 2024—the second Republican presidential victory in Wisconsin since 1984. His leadership also guided the party through hosting the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, reinforcing his pivotal role in this swing state’s political arena.
