If LDL circulates all over our bodies and LDL is the cause of heart disease, why don't we develop atherosclerosis in veins? But if we take the vein from our leg, for example, and put it in our heart as a bypass graft, it can now develop atherosclerosis. Why? And so, is LDL the real culprit? If yes, wouldn't the LDL have caused the atherosclerosis in the leg vein prior to being used as a graft?
