Cherry Republic gets grant

Cherry Republic in Traverse City is getting a boost. The Michigan Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development approved a food and agriculture investment program grant for $150,000 to aid in an expansion project that will add 16,000 square feet to its distribution center. The project, will allow Cherry Republic to purchase an additional million pounds of cherries annually from growers and create 20 new jobs. David Barr Michigan News Source.
