The episode stars William Shatner as an astronaut, Colonel Jeff Barton, who returns from a pioneering mission to Venus, only to experience strange and unsettling changes. Despite his initial success, he begins suffering from extreme cold and hallucinations of alien lifeforms. As his condition worsens, his wife and doctors struggle to understand the cause—was it the harsh conditions of Venus, or did he bring something back with him?
