Cain Velasquez Sentenced to 5 Years in Jail For Being a Good Father

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez was sentenced for a shooting in 2022 on March 24, 2025 and was handed 5 years for his crimes, including 1,283 days served. The justification for his actions have sparked a wave of support across the MMA/UFC community and parents abroad.

Velasquez engaged in a high-speed chase and fired shots into the vehicle of Harry Goularte, who is believed to have assaulted Cain's 4-year old son numerous times at their family daycare.

It's a situation very reminiscent of Gary Plauche, but this one doesn't have such a happy ending.
