CONFORMING TO AND SETTING MY MIND ON JESUS

I felt very challenged as well as encouraged by reading this passage out of Romans 8, because I'll be honest guys I need it. If any of you out there say that they don't struggle with their sin nature, they're lying, and/or nuts, because we deal with that struggle every day. There are days that can really overwhelm us, but then there are days where we experience what it's like to be conformed to and to have our minds set on Jesus, and those are the things that I try to remember. I think that's why I really truly appreciate this first question from this morning's devotional, and I had to share it with you tonight. Please read it carefully and allow God to speak to you through it.

How does the Spirit help you deal with your sin nature?

Tonight, my friends, I'd like to share some things that I've learned from this passage of scripture, through this vlog I'd like to share with all of you tonight, and I pray that what I share with you, gives you a very good idea about the struggle that we as Christians face between the spirit and the flesh, and how we need to keep these things under control period most of all, I pray that it helps you to see how important it is to conform to and set our minds on Jesus. So, my friends, as I close this post with all of you tonight, I want to leave you with this final question from this morning’s devotional, and I pray that it gives you the courage to live in the spirit, and not the flesh, through choosing to conform yourself to Jesus Christ every day.

What are some practical ways to set your mind on God?

I want to challenge you to think about these questions tonight, especially this last one, and ask yourself how you can set your mind on God. Start with carving out some time for you and the Lord, through prayer and reading God's word, studying it carefully, and asking God to speak to you through it. Make sure that you're spending QUALITY time with God in prayer and never forget going to the Lord in prayer for any and every situation. I also believe that we need to live out the principles and precepts of God's word in choosing to conform ourselves to Jesus Christ. We choose every day to live in the spirit and not the flesh, and follow not only what this verse above states, but also Philippians 4:8. Most of all guys, let's start looking to the vertical and not the horizontal!
